Simchat Torah RSVP in Lakeview

  • Please note: RSVP is NOT necessary to join any of the meals, dancing, services etc. However is it helpful for the planning. There is no official cost. Your support and partnership will help cover the basic expenses.

    This is the one holiday a year where bringing 7 friends with no advance notice is HIGHLY recommended!!  (If you able, please rsvp so we can plan properly. Scroll to the bottom to let us know).

    We prayed and fasted, now's the time celebrate like never before. Don't miss out on the best holiday of the year! 

    Eat, sing, drink and dance the night away in celebration of the Torah. The festive time of Shmini Atzeres/Simchos Torah is spent in joyous celebration as we mark the conclusion of the holiday of Sukkos and the reading of the Torah and honor our eternal tradition.

    There will also be a special children's program on at the Hakafot on both Monday night, Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

    Join together for Hakafos and Simchat Torah in Lakeview (see complete schedule below):

    1: Israeli~Chabad Hakafot on Monday evening October 13: 6:45 pm  
    2: Tuesday morning: October 14, holiday morning services at 10:00 am, Yizkor at 11:30 am 
    3: Main Simchat Torah Hakafot on Tuesday evening: Oct. 14 beginning at 7:00
    4: Simchat Torah day Hakafot + completion of the Torah on Wednesday morning: October 15, Services begin at 10:00 am. Dancing with Torah approx 11:30 am Followed by the reading of the end of the Torah, children Aliya to the Torah around 12:00 pm.


    Schedule Simchat Torah at Chabad:

    Monday, Oct 13 - Shmini Atzeret night:
    Candle lighting: 5:52 pm
    Mariv: 6:15 pm
    Dinner in the Sukkah: 6:30 pm
    Hakafot begins approx: 7:00 pm until around 9 or 10pm

    Tuesday, Oct 14 - Shmini Atzeres day: 
    Morning services: 10:00 am
    Yizkor: 11:30 am (including special prayer for the victims of 'Oct 7th' - today is their second yarhtzeit)
    lunch in the sukkah: 12:00 pm
    followed by Mincha approx 1:10 pm

    Main hakafot - Simchat Torah night:
    Mariv: 6:37 pm
    Candle lighting after (from pre existing fire) 6:52 pm
    Kiddush, Lchaim and Dinner: 7:00 pm
    Hakafot beginning approx 7:45 pm - 11:00 pm (or later) snacks will be provided throughout the evening

    Wednesday, Oct 15 - Simchat Torah day + completion of the Torah & children's Aliya:
    Shacarit: 10:00 am  
    Followed by a dairy brunch at 11:00 am. 
    Dancing with Torah approx 11:45 am
    Followed by the reading of the end and beginning of the Torah, children Aliya to the Torah around 12:15 pm.

    Mincha: 1:10 pm

    Final part of the Simchat Torah holiday, special Nigunim (chasidic melody/farbrengen) time: 5:45 pm
    Mariv & Havdalah: 6:50 pm
